Dik for posting TS #9.
As of this issue, Douglas Anderson is no longer an editor of
Tolkien Studies. He wrote about it on his blog, and I thought everyone deserved a chance to read his side of the story. That's why I inserted it as
A Former Editor's Introducton into this PDF (pp.
iv,
iv-a and
iv-b).
I also included his
Book Notes for this volume (pp.
113-114 of my PDF), that never got into the final version. I believe we need that information, unlike the publisher.
To do this, I used blank pages in the original document and played a little bit - actually, quite a lot, since I wanted new parts to look exactly as if they were original.
I named this version "Uncensored", for obvious reasons.
